Ian Gibson, Director and President
Ian Gibson is co-founder and President of Capital for a Cause. With a B.S. in Economics, Ian has a passion for finance which naturally brings a pertinent skill set to the organization.This skill set blends with a genuine heart for the underserved members of society. Disappointed at the lack of opportunity for meaningful humanitarian work during his early college years, Ian co-founded this non-profit organization as a tool to help combat poverty worldwide. Ian holds Masters degrees from The London School of Economics and London Business School.
Evan Shawler, Director and Vice President
Evan Shawler is co-founder and Vice President of Capital for a Cause. While growing up, Evan moved and travelled extensively throughout the world, experiencing poverty-stricken nations such as Bhutan. The combination of these diverse experiences developed Evan's sense of humility and compassion, leading to his strong desire to help the less fortunate. Evan currently attends medical school in Washington, D.C.
Kevin Dwyer, Secretary and Treasurer
Kevin Dwyer was originally introduced to Capital for a Cause in the fall of 2011 after its inception. Kevin's natural desire to help others coupled with his previous experience as a consultant for a local non-profit make him a perfect fit for Capital for a Cause. Kevin joined the team because he believes helping others help themselves will ultimately be the remedy for ending poverty. Originally volunteering as an Advisor for Capital for a Cause, Kevin worked tirelessly to help develop the Adopt-a-Country Partnership Program with President Ian Gibson. As Treasurer and Secretary, Kevin manages the administrative functions of the oranization and its assets in order to increase the reach and impact of Capital for a Cause.
